Problem:
Notre Dame Highschool in Lawrenceville, NJ had stored all of their student records on paper since their inception. Often alumni and students requested copies of their transcripts for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes tracking down a record took a lot of time. Not only was this costly but sometimes a record had been mis filed or even lost. The school recognized that there was a big problem here.

Solution:
Digitizing their student records made a lot of sense. They got board approval to go forward and bagan the process. Once digitzed the immediately realized the benfit. Not only could the find records in minutes but they could now distribute them via email. The saving relative to simply man hours made the effort pay for itself. The now send their records each year to be scanned so as not to have the problems they had ever again.

Problem:
The Delorean Motor Corporation does not actively manufacture cars anymore. They do, however, still provide parts and repair for the existing Delorean owners. They also manufacture on a custom order basis. All of the schematics and drawings were being stored on microfilm. This made it difficult to access information quickly which slowed down the process of attending to customer needs.

Solution:
John Delorean decided that digitizing the microfilm made a lot of sense. The had their entire collection of microfilm scanned and output to pdf files and made available on their network. This allowed engineers and staff the ability to find information quickly. They realized the efficiency increase and the value of scanning to pdf.
